The Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade has recently issued two decrees (991/2015, 43/2016) which define the new procedures for companies registration and custom clearance for goods destined to Egypt (cogent since last March 16th 2016).
The General Organization of Export and Import Control (GOEIC) in Egypt has extended the products categories subject to the regulation including products (full list) of the wood-furniture sector:
- Bathroom furniture (shower, sinks, washbasins, bidets, toilets, seats and covers);
- Domestic furniture;
- Office furniture.
Intertek is an organization approved by GOEIC for the issue of the Certificate of Inspection (CoI) required for the exported goods. In addition, it supports manufacturers and owners of product brands subject to regulation in the registration process at the GOEIC.
COSMOB is approved by Intertek (CAP) for the realization of laboratory tests useful for certifications of conformity in order to export in the following countries:
- AFRICA (Algeria, Botswana, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Niger, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda).
- MIDDLE EAST (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar).
- Russia
