ITS: an opportunity for the wood-furniture sector

Milena Gabanelli talks about ITS, the Higher Technical Institutes and how they are a fundamental resource for the labour market.

The specialized training course for the furniture sector (ITS Wood-Furniture) has been held in COSMOB for over 3 years with the contribution of local partner companies (Adrenalina, About Office, Avenanti, Domingo Salotti, DMM, Fiam, Grottaroli, Imab Group, Kubedesign, Morfeus, Paspartu and Scavolini).
The two-year course aims to train new technicians in the sector through lectures held by highly qualified  teachers and company professionals. School, company and technological center operate in synergy with a unique and tailored to the needs of our production district training course.

The ITS is an opportunity for the young people who want to specialize and enter in a company enviroment and it is an opportunity for our companies to find qualified technical figures.
An interesting description of these realities is treated by Milena Gabanelli in her online column of Corriere della sera “Dataroom” where she presents an effective summary: the ITS provide specialized training based on the needs of the companies; 82.5% of ITS graduates found work within a year (MIUR data) and the need to employ 150,000 super-technicians in the next 5 years by Italian companies.
