On July 7th, 2021, “Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products Regulations” was published in the Canadian Official Gazette.
The final regulation prohibits the import and sale of wood-based products with formaldehyde emission levels above the established limits.
In addition to aligning the requirements for formaldehyde emission limits with those already laid down in the United States: TSCA Title VI and CARB P2, this regulation also imposes requirements for traceability, registration and labelling of products.
The final Regulation will enter into force from 7th January 2023.
