The drafting of technical specifications for the supply of furniture is an increasingly important need for both companies and public administrations.
In order to provide companies with useful and updated guidelines for the drafting of these specifications, the UNI has made available three “technical reports”:
- UNI/TR 11653:2020 “Standard technical specifications for the supply of office seating”;
- UNI/TR 11654:2020 “Standard technical specifications for the supply of desks and office tables, storage cabinets and office screens”;
- UNI/TR 11796:2020 “Standard technical specifications for the supply of accessory seats for collective use”.
These specifications provide an effective reference framework for technical legislation on office and community furniture products, especially useful for anyone who has to deal with purchasing and contracting procedures for these products.
The COSMOB Testing Laboratory Division is able to support companies in the interpretation of these guidelines providing the information necessary for their understanding, as well as perform specific tests for compliance to UNI/TR and issue on request a specification “Declaration of conformity“.
In addition, with these statements it is possible to achieve compliance with the requirements set out in some paragraphs of the CAM – Minimum Environmental Criteria for Interior Furnishings”: this service can be required both for individual furniture products and for entire families, for which sampling will be planned to select the most representative samples of the entire population.
