COSMOB took part in the ISO Technical Committee meeting for the furniture sector, which was held from 18 to 22 February 2019 at the TÜV Rheinland headquarters, in Nuremberg.
COSMOB is an official member of the Technical Commission called ISO/TC 136 “Furniture” which has the task of defining and harmonizing the regulatory standards for safety, functionality and health for furnishing products in different countries.
During the meeting was discussed the international harmonization of regulatory standards for: storage units, seats and tables for domestic and office use, as well as new drafts relating to the electric handling of furniture. In this regard, the ISO / TC 136 Task Group saw the participation of two representatives of the electrical world belonging to the IEC / TC 61 working group.
Qualified delegations of industry leaders and Test Laboratories of reference for the country were present at the meeting; in addition to a large German delegation, the meeting counted more than 30 participants from: Austria, China, France, Italy, Spain, the United States, Sweden and, in general, representatives from the most relevant countries of the furniture sector took part in the meeting.
