Advanced materials for eco-sustainable transportation.
The MATRECO project aims at researching high-tech materials and their competitive transformation process for the realization of components and structures, functionalized and characterized by high environmental sustainability (less consumption in the same lifecycle of life, extraction of the raw material to the recycling / reuse of the final material). The most innovative aspects of MATRECO are articulated through the results that will be achieved through the following research lines: • Eco-compatible materials: structural composites with biopolymeric matrix and / or fiber-reinforced fiber recycle; · Structured structural materials for structures with optimized properties for final use through the production process; · Surface functionalization treatments: polymers, fabrics, molds. In addition to Cosmob, the consortium envisages the involvement of many partners able to transform the results of industrial research into new products for their reference market. The results of the project are materials, processes and methodologies resulting from cooperative and synergistic research between research organizations and manufacturing companies. In fact, it is envisaged that the industrial partners of an eco-sustainable door for automotive interiors will realize a high-strength composite structural panel for rail applications, a natural / fire retardant panel for furnishings in the nautical sector, innovative natural panels for home furnishing, biopolymer bags for the packaging sector.
